Random idea -> Data to Images

Could it be possible to do the same with movies?

For example create an iso of a movie, do your thing and turn it into images or whatever, then download it, and extract as a movie?

Or, am I on the wrong thing completely? lol

Why would you want to 1st create a iso?
You could take the movie and the program would generate images out of the movie file (kinda like putting a movie inside a multi part rar archive)

10mb image, I guess the same size as the crack. Size of (lets say) a movie turned to an image would result in, I suppose, 700+mb. Image hosts usually don't allow uploading 700mb images

The crack was a 9.6MB rar file so it was already compressed. If you would put a large text file into a png the png would be a good deal smaller since png is a form of lossless compression.

Depends on the data. If you make a png out of a rar there wont be extra compression. Text would get compression

Alright it looks cool, sounds cool but can't you achieve the same with just renaming a file?

p.s. the image = a part83.rar file so don't expect it to unarchive

Nope because that image is invalid plus a server could look at the file and see that the file headers are not those of a png file.

I said about creating an ISO, because I didn't know you could do it with movie files, just thought it was ISOs, sorry.

I like this idea, if you could create your own algorithm for this it can be used for DATA protection methods!

but you would have to create like a transparent layer of data thats not effecting the actual data of the hidden content and place it over the original for visual purposes

Well, that is why I made this thread, to see if you guys think this might be a handy alternative.

Size went from 2.73mb to 1.46mb so it does compress if possible.

Well I definitely think this is a great idea. It is PRACTICALLY impossible for files to be deleted, and it makes it easier for people to download. The only people who will have a problem will be uploaders who upload for cash, although, I am sure you can upload the image file to Rapidshare?

This is not the same 'old' method as the one you are talking about. The old method was:
- Take existing jpg
- Take a file
- jpg data + file data = large jpg file

All that was doing is merging where as this method actually transcodes data. This means the old method was detectable, the new one inst. At least not for non-humans.

I knw this isnt old method. I just said it could be useful to merge both methods. I actually said tht in response to litewarez comment. Wat I meant is we can use your method to compress files & old method to show any random image as outer image. People will see only outer image & it will look even less suspicious.
