Depending on where your server is based allows/limits you to what you can do on your website. Different countries such as Netherlands and Malaysia have less in forced internet piracy rules allowing content such as nulled scripts, porn and proxys etc to be uploaded on there servers.

It matters where your server is because the server is in the jurisdiction(?) of the country it resides in, and would be committing an offence in accordance with the law of that particular country.

yea butt from the way i under stand these law's is that even if you host it in a diff countny and live in one that can proscuite you can still get in trouble for copywrite infringment as to the us(or where ever you are from does not half to accept nor go with there law's in that country so you are still stuck with legial issue's anyway. sorry if i am wrong this

yes, I think about this too. I guess that's not about server location but about responsible person who owns the server and runs it.
