    Default Android Phones

Anyone here part of the Android Community?

I'm currently an owner of a Motorola Droid on Verizon's network.

Currently the most recent one is Android 2.1 running on the Google Nexus One (manufactured by HTC, and service provided by T-Mobile, soon Verizon in the Spring)

This beast is running a 1GHz processor

    Any android fans out there?

PS: KWWH should configure User Agents so mobile devices go to the lo-fi view automatically, will be so useful o.o

    I am, I have a T-Mobile G1(HTC Dream).
I love android, but the actual hardware of my phone sucks and is slow.

Doesn't that run like Android 1.5?

OT: ATM I think Android is the "future" but it needs more polishing and of course good enough hardware to run it. Until it's polished and more phones like the N1 come out I'm staying faithful to my iPhone

    btw Verizon sucks

Android *will* outperform the iPhone OS a few versions from now.

Its still early stages really, but it'll eventually be much better.
When that day comes and there are a large selection of android apps, i'll probably switch to an android phone from my iphone.

Just noticed what .mac said, he has the right idea.

You can't possibly know that because you're comparing old to new. You have no idea what Apple might come out with

We've yet to see what will OS 4 (or even 3.2) bring to the table.

    Yeah, it's 1.6
There isn't even a working 2.0 Rom/Update out there for it...

    Yeah I agree really.

What I mean to say is, android will be THE competitor.
It'll be like the current Mac vs. Windows "debate".

I'll stick with my iphone until android has more apps, more features and better devices.

I think Dream won't be updated to 2.x because of it's limitations, only Hero (aka G2) and Moment will :/

    Android already is a competitor.

I was actually referring to this - what I meant was hold your breath with statements like this because you can't possibly know what OS 4 will bring to the table and what will the 4th gen iPhone look like/be capable of, i.e you might not even switch.

Yes I agree Android needs a LOT of polishing... Google is a great company, but they have many flaws in the way they are going with Android right now.

iPhone 4.0 is suppose to have multi tasking as well. But Apple's closed minded system will be the doom of them in the future.

Agreed, but many things are changing (starting from the App Store, accepting plenty apps that they haven't before, changing policies (f.e "free apps stay free" is no more, you can now implement in-app purchases in free apps too) etc) so they might even allow stuff they never did before (f.e multitasking).

I hope they implement MT and enable things like battery percentage and video camera for the 2G/3G iPhones as well with the OS 4.
