Rapidshare has finally released rapidmovies, alongside rapidgames as part of rapidshare's RapidTainment.

The controversial but beloved Rapidshare, A company that hosts on its servers more than 10 petabytes of files, just released in beta RapidMovies, A website that allegedly offered online movies for users Premium accountsAnd could count on the collaboration of the Warner Bros.
According to a company spokesman file hosting, RapidMovies is actually the initial test phase, but meanwhile we can see on their website as they are gradually adding extra content such as trailers, scenes, movie trailers, etc..

So far, Warner Bros. does not comment about its possible association with Rapidshare, and even less about the possibility of offering its movies in RapidMovies, but the fact is that such rumors are just becoming a reality.

For all illegal content, they have now added this message which will direct you to rapidmovies.

Be prepared for extremely fast removals of copyrighted content since the more illegal content removed = more redirects to rapidtainment = more profit for rapidshare.

Well, I don't think it'll gain faithful users because users coming on Rapidshare will definitely download the movie rather than viewing them online
So, I think it'll not be such a *big* hit.

You will be able to buy the movies on the site.

Great idea for RS but sucks for uploaders/downloaders.

Oh well I use torrents anyways.

i dont think rapid movies is introduced aiming profit
May be they want to do something to promote movie sales ,they can atleast highlight this or make a point in the court anytime as they receive thousands of complaints and legal notice everyday

I agree, they will have a good point to make in court if/when the time comes. But the main reason for it is definitely the profit. Many downloaders would get fed up of trying to find working links and would just end up buying/streaming the movie from rapidmovies if its available.
