Default Why Does Everyone Do This?

What I want to know is, how come every single new warez site that I see, asking for reviews just installs a bulletin board/blog, throws on a public skin, sometimes even a custom skin, and lobs in a Katz button?

Why don't they work hard to earn their traffic? I think Katz should have a rule, that when you have been submitting to them for 1/2 years, you can't submit again. It is so simple to submit to Katz, and get the traffic from their. Why don't webmasters try to get some traffic themselves? W-BB have done it, Katz have done it and WS have done it themselves. As an appreciation to Katz, I think it would be nice to see sites not always submitting to Katz, but maybe putting a Katz button up, just to show how greatful they are.

I am not saying, do not submit, all I am saying is, why does everyone create a site, and rely on Katz traffic?

This is not a bashing thread, just want to know really.

to make a thread like this is easy but when you run a site like warez is hard

we all need katz with out katz is gone a be super hard

and you have to spend lots of money to adv your site and right now its free beacuse of katz

katz can ask form webmaster money to submit to there ddl.

if katz ask for money there is chance for other ddl to grow and katz well loose there rank and am sure katz wont like that.

I do understand your view mate, what I am saying is why can't you just work a bit harder to get your site to the top? Like I said, I know how hard it is, and how much work it takes.

This is still not a bashing thread.

What you say is indeed correct, I would submit to Katz, BUT I would also not create a site in which I couldn't afford to pay to get to the top as well. I am not bashing the small sites, if anything they are the ones who I think should be submitting to Katz, over the big, well-established sites. I just think, why create a site, that you can't afford to pay to get to the top?

    Still not bashing. lol

You know what!! I agree to be very honest! I think that there is too much Katz submitting. My brother himself relies on Katz for the members, I think they should work a bit more harder because I am joined on my brothers forum! And half the members (which have come from Katz) are inactive alot.

    Good topic mate.

    No bashing

katz is a good booster. WS started on katz, and now their on their own.

I as well, want to leave katz someday, but thats only after I create a good base traffic with good base members logging in everyday.

It def is hard, but people must concentrate on organic traffic (from google, etc..) rather than katz. Katz won't hurt, but they shoot your bounce rate/hollow traffic through the roof.

But running warez sites, what do you expect? lol

    Nice topic.

That is what I mean GF, it is ok to start up with Katz, to help you get your traffic, but ultimately, the sites that rely on Katz for more than a few years, will inevitably, go under.

When you say it is hard, yes that is true, but what is better than seeing that your site has got 1000 members, all on your own? I would much rather get a good member base, members who continue coming back, as opposed to a few thousand uniques a day, from people who won't come back.

Also, why not submit to the smaller DDLs instead? Everyone mentions how hard it is to get traffic in, why not do the smaller DDLs a favour as well? Help each other is what I say, and most sites that submit to Katz, don't give Katz anywhere near the traffic that Katz gives them, so how is that fair?

Sites who want to link back, just as a warrant of their appreciation to them, like WS usd to do, and Katz used to do to W-BB. I just think it is:

    1) Unfair on Katz, due to the fact that they send out a LOT of traffic to these sites, but get hardly any from them in return.

    2) Unfair on smaller DDL sites that are just starting, they want some traffic too.

    3) Too easy for warez webmasters to submit their 40 links a day, and get a few thousand hits.

Easy fix, submit to ******** too

I know what you mean, but katz is the best place to get traffic to your warez site.

Due to the large amount of warez sites out there today, it's not easy to spread the word around like back in the past (IE: WBB, Katz), I'm not saying they didn't work hard, but it would involve a lot of intense promotion to do it now, people would have to spread their uploads, and that would be to popular boards which direct a little amount of traffic. Katz offer a great deal in my honest opinion, you give them a good space in your site and you get a lot of traffic, obviously Katz doesn't do it only for traffic, but also to help out other webmasters grow their website in a easier way, I've no idea where SceneRLS would be without Katz (ftw).

But, yeah, some sites just do get enough traffic, like the sites you said that submit for over a year, and almost even two, but them submitting on Katz is also good for Katz, more people recommend them all over the scene, and it brings a lot of back traffic to Katz (not as much as Katz probably gave them, but something is always better than nothing), the more the traffic there is to Katz, the more the smaller webmasters/warez sites benefit.

    2) Unfair on smaller DDL sites that are just starting, they want some traffic too.
A DDL site should always have something for a webmaster to submit to it, Katz fading away wouldn't solve the problem, Katz has it's amount of traffic, a newer DDL site I'd like to point out is LiteWarez, their webmaster user interface is very well coded and makes things so much easier for a webmaster, I hope you get my point here. I don't want to say that other DDL sites are shit, I'm just looking at it differently, I hope you understand my point.
