google.co.uk4tw, I understand what you are saying completely. I agree with you to an extent. What you said about it not being as easy as the past, that is true, but also on the other hand, the big sites have kept their traffic going, and kept their sites up their with the best. W-BB, Katz etc, have earned their spot, and where they are, they are always improving, whether it be the front-end, where it is obvious of the changes or be it back-end, where the end user can't notice any change.
I just think that webmasters should just do a bit more work, put a bit more money into their sites to improve them, because if they don't, it will get to the point where we have thousands of warez sites, with the same content, and if 90% of them sites are getting their traffic from Katz, then why would users not just choose to search on Katz, get their download, and leave the site where the download is situated. It would be far simpler for the downloader in that respect.
Obviously for the uploader, it does make it a bit more difficult to get more downloads, advertise using their URL etc, but at the end of the day, isn't warez all about sharing? So, even if 1 person downloads your file, that means you have helped that 1 person out. To me that is what this is about, sharing.
Your point about LiteWarez; I have seen it, and to be honest I can't see why that site shouldn't be up their with Katz. Every single day I see what LiteWarez does on his site, it is something different, something that is a surprise. That to me should be the DDL that people should start submitting to, help LiteWarez out, and get it to the top, with Katz.

google.co.ukThat is my whole point GF, when did uploading/sharing become about how much you can earn? If you have got uploaders that only do it for money, they are really not that great.
Look at RT, he uploads for the love of sharing, yeah I am sure he makes some extra pocket money, but if he didn't get paid, he would still be uploading, because he enjoys doing it.
I understand what you are saying though GF.

Agreed, but there's nothing we can do to stop new webmasters from doing that. Let them learn from their own mistakes.
Katz is a beast.
Warez-BB is a beast.
WarezScene was banned from katz - that's why they don't submit any more.
sites which rely solely on katz traffic will fail. its good that you're advising new webmasters not to do this but sometimes they need to learn things for themselves by failing miserably and starting again with some more experience.
oh, i'm not too sure about that.Life asked Death: "Why do people love me, but hate you?"
Death responded: "Because you're a beautiful lie and I'm the painful truth."

flmsdown.netThis is how warez is evolving, you cannot stop it. In a purely mechanical world, we are seeing nature, at its best. Instead of trying to convert others, live true to what you are preaching. Take the reigns and lets see you act rather than complain.

google.co.ukFighter, when did you hear me complain? I am just very curious as to why everyone does this.
Oh, and by the way, I do not submit to Katz, and have a very nice site thank you, I have no need for Katz, and vice versa, if I did then I would make sure I had something to offer them, as opposed to it all being one way.
Anyway, this isn't meant to be a bashing thread.

crackingforum.com linkparadox.com crackz.meI agree. I indeed used Katz to start up and get going, but haven't really submitted anything since December of 2009.
You shouldn't rely on Katz to generate traffic and such for your site and expect it to just blow up and become the next big thing. To gain member traffic and support, you need to work hard (as GF said) and be different. Using Katz only generates views, no real members.
You ever go to a site with 15,000 - 30,000 members and see something like:
Online: 981 guests and 5 members
To me, this is WORTHLESS. Those guests will prolly never find your forum again or even view it, unless they like it as GF said and wish to come back.
I have 9,000 members and have a HUGE active member base. Instead of worrying about Katz and guest traffic/page views, focus on getting ACTIVE MEMBERS. Getting members to come back over and over is the hardest part. If you have a strong active community base to start with, you will be good.
Once you have this and people see the forum is active and can chat from time to time, they may come back. Why would they come back to a forum with nothing but guests and a small amount of members who barely post?
Ever go to a warez forum and look at the general/other sections? Most of the time there dead. All the traffic is guests using your forum to DL, they have no intension on becoming active.
I will tell you for sure that tossing hundreds of free accounts daily boosted my traffic so much. This is a key feature of being unique and offering something other forums don't, for FREE. Other sites have a free account section but they focus more on VIP accounts instead of free accounts. How do you expect to get VIP members when they see your free account section barely populated?

flmsdown.netYou offer Katz content, which in turn generates traffic. It is not purely Katz standing alone holding everyone in the palm of their hand. They got to the place they are with us, and their cunning attitude and dedication.
Why?
By submitting to Katz webmasters are able to generate traffic, depending on your rank, you could be getting quite the amount of hits per day.
In addition, links submitted to Katz have a higher longevity than links posted from forum to forum. Which means uploaders have the best chance of generating the most amount of points possible per upload.
