An illegal template is obviously not legal, it would be alright to be used at some normal site, but in a professional one it's best to not take the risk.

Now, my question is, is it ok? Can the government or some other fuckers like Internet police (lol) ask me to show them the bill that I bought that template and that the template is legit? I would definitely purchase it instead of having illegal copy.
look at other way, they also provide support for template if anything goes missing. because templates tends to have some bugs and bugs are like finding a fuckin tiny hair pin in megaton garbage.

if they find you r using their illegal copy and if they sue you in court then you will have to pay some thousands $$ for that(cost of template+copyright charges around $5000-$10000) and if you fail to pay then jail for for some couple of years.
this happens only when they fine a case. or else they just simply send you a notice to remove their crap.
In a nutshell, it is solely depend on them.
