    You can give it a try, and see what will happen, if members start to actually get involved and communicate and whatnot then you should keep it, but if you face problems, either spammers, member just bashing and dashing... server, then remove it.

    In my experience, Shoutbox takes away from forum activity.

    If you want ppl to talk make an IRC Channel.
