FlatFile PM System ?

User check is also from flat files... (no MySql at all)

you want a flat file user system as well?

Ive done good research and coding in flat file, its alot of fun. If you want a quick jump start there are tons of flat file forums, with user systems, private messaging, ect.

Private message systems are not hard regardless weather your doing flat file or DB!

if your going to be doing flat file then i would look into xml for a safe structure !

in the tracking ogf the PM system you need to track at least 2 items from each message stored witch is a sender GUID and a receiver GUID and if reply a R_PMID witch is a root PM ID so you know what message belongs to what !

this a way you just grab all items where the viewers id is the same as the recivers for out box and the senders = the current user!

Thanks for your answers... i already have user flat file database and the information is stored in the following way : "username|usernamedisplay|password||Y|e-mail|" .
So how can i make this flat file PM system based on the user datebase.

The way id go about it is store an addtion file containing only pms.

"user sending|user receiving|title|message"

So you can grab or search for user receiving to match session of logged in user. Then list the titles & messages. Hope that helps.
