Default What type of bandwidth would prefer on a VPS?

    Just a quick one -

If you were to buy a VPS, would you prefer

    a) to have a shared 1000mbps line with a set amount of bandwidth

or b) to buy your own dedicated bandwidth (2/3mbps dedicated line)
(330GB est. of transfer per mbps.)

The reason I ask is we have a few people who perfer their own dedicated line - so other users can't cause them to suddenly have a network slow down etc.

Note this won't stop you from DDoS attacks on a node as the 1GBit line will still go into one port on the blade enclosure and from there bandwidth limits will be set on the vlan.

    Feel free to explain below.

    Regards
    Nick

You really cant provide a dedicated line on a VPS.
WebT Hosting - Professional Hosting, 1 Gbps Unmetered Bandwidth, Germany Available
Shared, Reseller, VPS, Managed Hosting, Remote Desktop
1 Gbps Available, Transfer Support From Previous Provider

You can, it's called port limits on a vlan - if you have good enough hardware you could do this too

Also - no idea why my poll didn't create

Also - it's not really unlimited,

Its about 330GB of transfer per 1mb of bandwidth.

    Personaly..
VPS that have a dedicated line say 5MPS to 10MPS is much better then shared at time as its dedicated without a limit on them.
You can also offer the choice for 100mps shared (say 1600GB BW)

    I like those ways D:
It's amazing, being in a community can cause hate. Competitors or not - DDOS isn't cool :)
