Yeah i know what you mean but that is not the proper way to do it.... and it won't work on any servers without adding that code to .htaccess.... and you would be screwed if you made the whole script like that then changed to a hosting account that limited what you can do with .htaccess.

I just thought telling the PROPER way would be more useful to a newbie... and there are some hosting providors who limit the use of .htaccess....

Im on the same host as this guy there is no need to do anything like this... just format the files correctly and if your using php in them use the .php extension LOL ??

If i purchased or got given a script that had php in .html files i would be like WTF??

There is no "proper" way of doing it, there are various ways.
And maybe he doesn't want to rename the file.

Well im not going to argue with you, but as im sure you know 99% of people would do it how i said rather than letting html files parse php. Its just gonna confuse the guy later down the line.

And certainly in any kind of professional script it would be done how i said.

I'm not trying to argue with you. You're the one getting the attitude saying "oh you have to rename it html'.
that's bullshit, my method works 100% the same way. and probably useful to him since it seems he doesn't want to rename his file. and it's not confusing in anyway

    there's nothing "unprofessional" about it.

There is something very unprofessional about it. Im not getting any attitude your being a troll. Make a poll or something if your that convinced i couldn't care less, was just trying to point the guy in the right direction. And show him how 99% of people would do it (you probably being the 1%).

If html files where intended to be used like that as standard the type would already be added....

Find me 1, just 1 professional script using your method and i will give you a cookie :-)

How am I being a troll?
I answering someone's question when you aren't you're just here arguing.
he obviously doesn't want to rename the file.

why would I waste my time making a poll? you make a poll.
what does the way you code something have to do with being professional.? wtf?

Ah whatever dude...... I answered the question in a completely correct way. And as you know 99% of people would build a script with html/php in the method i said (or possibly it seems you don't, but should)... you are the one arguing with each post i make. My point is much stronger, and method is the DEFAULT way of doing it.

And its not the way "I" code, its the way 99% of people would do it... and ANY professional php script creator would. As i said find me just one script that uses your method and i will give you a cookie.

Now your trying to say i didn't answer the question and am just arguing? BS...
