KWWHunction.comXP boot issue
Ok I have an older laptop that I received from a customer and I'm having a few issues trying to re-install windows.
1st. I cant boot from the CD for some reason and when i choose f12 one-time boot menu when i choose to boot from cd-rom device i get nothing.
2nd. I try running Windows XP from my external and re-install the regular way but any key I try whatsoever its giving me "invalid key crap".
SO....
Does any have a xp that i can install the regular way without it asking me for a key and/or is there a xp that i can run off my external which ull automatically reboot and load setup after restarting ????
need help errr

Did you configure the Bios to boot from CD first? Have you tried using a third party keyboard to see if that works? Should you keep getting an error the problem might be with the hard drive. I had a client whos laptop was so fucked up it took about 2 hours to load the welcome screen and I still couldn't do anything. I would pop in the cd,. it was configured to boot from CD, I did go to boot options and booted from the CD but when the "press any key to boot from cd" message came on, I pressed all the dam keys and nothing. I installed a new hard drive on the lappy and sure enough it worked.

reddit.comYou can still get the XP USB version (if you didn't do that with your external)
But yes, if you haven't set the boot options in BIOS, nothing can be done.
