mybb easily hackable, phpbb is manageable...but installing mods is the toughest part..there is a mod called automod to help u install mods but it installs only a few mods correctly..the only easy part is installation that i love is within 3 mins-5mins (depending on connection speed) u can start running ur forum,vb if u buy its very easy to install but nulled version are a bit irritating but yes its very easy to manage especially 4.xx versions and u can go for smf like phpbb but gud themes r rare to find..i have tried all lol..now happy with vbulletin..choice is urs

Both are same as per your requirements.
See a person using windows will be good with windows and a person using mac will be good in mac. Both are same but the thing is you will have to cope up with it.
In my opinion go with phpbb because you will find it easy to run.

See, don't really go with vB if you have never used it. Use phpbb. Work on vB on your local host if you want. If you've 0 knowledge about vB then you'll surely fuk up things.

I haven't used phpbb till now. Downloaded it yesterday. I'm going to play with it on my localhost till I learn properly

well i have been using phpbb3 for 2 years (tachoz.net/forums).
and using smf for last 1 year. smf also works great.
and used sometimes vb too for testing purpose,
i love phpbb its quite easy to maintain..
as far as adding mods is concerned its not a real pain in ass. its easy to add mods, customize templates etc..

phpbb is more easy to handle RK, but the thing is you want get more features like Vbulletin.

And if your good in vbulletin then phpbb might be easier to use and vice versa.
