Banning the usernames is a bad idea, as you all know many folks use the same username but are different people, for example Mike on Site A is different than Mike on Site B.

IP + UserAgent + posting patterns (filehosts used, imagehosts..etc) will make a perfect profile against those fake downloads posters.

It blocks most of them el_j. Majority posts via MPB/MPU. You can always ban their old account and their IP too. They'll surely try posting via a proxy/VPN if your site is good. It's hard to catch all of em.

MPB? Multiposter app? if it has a unique useragent string, why not just block that? it'll block all posts made by MPB.

Yes elj but they dont want all posts blocked from the multi poster. Only block the individuals that are using it unfairly.

Yep. MPB = Multi Poster Black and MPU = Multi Poster Ultimate.

I've blocked users using MPB on my site but I still need to get the MPU useragent string from jayfella so that majority of those guys stop auto posting.

Edit: DeLeTeD, most of the guys using these auto posters don't post threads properly or have some virus in them or some crap in the download file. Very few posters are good
