Gmail marking mail as spam.

The mail settings on the server probably isn't setup properly and maybe a few people marked it as spam from the earlies?

snowmanrene Reviewed by snowmanrene on 26th May 2010. Gmail marking mail as spam. Gmail decides to mark my server mail as spam even though, I am not on any blacklists, my SPF records PASS, and my domain key is GOOD. Does anybody have an idea why Gmail would be marking my mail as spam? Rating: 5

Yeah I'm guessing that is the problem too, mx or dns entries need to be fixed possibly.

dont use the admin account, never use admin for anything unless absolutely necessary. Secondly, double check that you dont need to add your username, and other details. If the mailserver is on the same server as the php/html server then it does not require authentication since it is regarded as in-bound traffic or some shit like that.

make sure that your IP has rdns setup for your domain.. many emails provider even drop emails from IP's without proper rdns .

I'm sending mail with SMTP jay, yes the php/mail is on the same IP.

@desiboy I have rdns setup on my hostname IP but not my additional IPs.

Open the "Original message" of spammed mail in gmail, check what is going wrong!

Sending mail thru PHP's mail function with out proper headers are in most cases marked as spam.

Somtimes gmail do this becoz of phising
