use a vpn \ proxy when on the domain registar's site

Go to the registrar (I recommend NameCheap), register with legit details (optional, but if you were to use fake, don't make it too obvious) make sure you get Who Is protection with it, that should keep you safe, at least has for me and for most of the people I know.

Privite whois info whont work when mpaa contacts namecheap for your info...

Why even use fake info? That's how people get into trouble in the first place =/

It is highly unlikely that your information will be given to authorities. Just buy a domain from wherever, and put private whois if you're afraid of even getting caught.

No offense, but most likely your site will not be big enough for the authorities to even care to shut you down, so you have nothing to worry about.

If they accept a money order that would obviously be safer than using other methods such as paypal.
