nano, it's the first editor I ever used on Linux so it's kinda stuck in my heart now
I guess vi(m) has more features but meh, nano does the job for me.

Why would you use vim? It sucks.
Nano has much better usability.
If you are going to code, then sftp into server and use geany or whatever?
