I would never use a windows server as i have heard to many bad things about them but then I would properly never go back to linux for home..

I disagree. I've always liked XP and have never been a great fan of Linux for desktop usage. But since I gave openSUSE 11.1 (with KDE 4) a try I changed my mind. While it stays true that the bulk of developers are still only developing for MS, that does not mean that Linux is a no-go. It is (from my honest point of view from working with openSUSE) MORE convinient then windows. Its like stepping into a free world if you know what I mean. Not only can I do whatever I could with Windows, I can do that and much more cos of the open source nature of Unix based software.

If a person thinks that Linux is impossible to deal with for home usage - truth be told - it tells more about the person then it does about Linux.
