Default Net Etiquette while using English. Lesson 1

I have decided to take upon myself, the responsibility of teaching those who would like to learn, the proper conventions of English, especially in relation to online forums.

I shall first start with the use of exclamation and question marks. When using these punctuation marks, they are to be used once and once only. For example, if I were to pose a question asking how much a certain service cost, it would be "How much does this service cost?" rather than "How much does this service cost????????". See how much cleaner the first one looks.

My second issue is with capitalization. Capital letters should only be used in the first letter of a word which fulfills one of the following conditions:

    • Is the first word of a sentence.
    • Is a proper noun

If these conditions are not met, letters should not be capitalized. In regards to the internet, many people often don't use any capital letters. I see this as acceptable, however others may not. What I don't see as acceptable is having random letters capitalized, it irks me. Again this is my opinion.

For example, which one of these sentences looks better?
"heY bRo, arEn't i SO gOod aT eNglish?"
"Hey bro, aren't I so good at English?"

Of course the second sentence is much easier to read.
    Stay Tuned for Lesson 2.

I have a thread on how to type English, and it is not a joke. Trying to read some of the threads people post here is impossible. Its like trying to decode binary without using a conversion program.

By the way, capital letters should NOT be used in every noun, only "proper" nouns.

lol even though it is right, I am only joking. Great guide though mate.
