Links to work without vbseo

hey guys after my host complained that we are causing high server load we decided to remove the vbseo.

I found that inorder to make the older links work without vbseo we can use this code

 
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^(.*)/([0-9]+)-(.*).html(/?) showthread.php?t=$2 [L]

i will put it on .htaccess file, my doubt is should i remove the rules of vbseo on the .htaccess file and put the above code so that older links will work without vbseo ?

Not sure. I don't have a vB installed on my localhost atm or else I'd have tried it out.
