nationwebhost.comHow to change cPanel package names in SSH
Hello,
This is tutorial on how to change your cPanel package names in SSH.
Firstly login to SSH.
Proceed to folder 'root'
cd root
If you get: -bash: cd: root: No such file or directory
Don't worry, this just means you are already in root directory.
Next, proceed to folder 'var'
cd /var
Then proceed to folder 'cpanel'
cd cpanel
Then proceed to folder 'packages'
cd packages
Now we are in the directory where all the packages are kept. Now you will be wanting the names of the packages in here. To list them use the command:
'ls'
After you have listed the directory, we are now going to use the rename command 'mv'.
mv oldpackagename newpackagename
Example:
mv NeptuneMax NeptuneMax1
Written by me, nothing special but I hope it helps!

L337Fx.com BeastieBay.netThanks for this. But just a suggestion, hide "root@vuze" it may be good for hackers to determine & hack. So just remove it from the screenshots
Nice tutorial.

How would that help hackers?
"vuze" is the server name, so most likely vuze.vuzehosting.com
and "root" is, well the root user.
Even if they did, the likely hood of them hacking it are very slim since on most servers after 3 invalid logins, you get banned. So unless you have a really unsecure password, you're good
