Need help setting up web portal

Hey guys,

I'm having a project. It requires me to set up a web portal for students, which frankly I have no idea where to begin.

Anyway is it wise of me to use wordpress? Does wordpress have the ability for students to sign up for an account so they can blog their shit? Photos etc? I've looked at Joomla and Drupla but both of them confuses me. Besides they I need to pay 50 per month for Joomla to use their service.

Is this a project from school? If yes you need to figure this out by yourself otherwise you won't learn anything about it.

All my lecturer says is to refer to W3school. And this is not what I'm supposed to major in anyway. I'm not asking you guys to do it. I'm just asking for some feeback/

My question is, I need the login system. Therefore is it better using wordpress, Joomla or drupal?

go for joomla,
and btw joomla is free

Use Wordpress, it will be a lot easier for what you are needing to do than Drupal or Joomla.
There are plug-ins for almost everything you mentioned.
