What type of box is it?

Linux WIndows etc.

Why not just install VNC on the box and Remote it? Simplest method and best method to control a box ?

then you just install software on the box that's needed.

Firstly, Read the instructions that come with VNC Server.

Download and install via grep / command

once installed configure settngs and set password, on your desktop install vncviewer and then connect to your server ip, enter user and pass. you should then be able to view your desktop live.
