hi,
i know that i can set permissions for a folder + subfolders with this command:
chmod 777 -Rvf folder
but if i do that then all users have this access...
so my question is... how to set this permissions only for one user?

ye... i'm new to linux... in windows i can setup a VPS easy... there it's no problem for me... but in linux... like i said, i'm new here.but i did set up all now. just have to find which folder or file in /bin/ i have to chmod to 777 so that the $_SESSION in php will work proper. but i will install CentOS now at my laptop too, just to play around and try different thing and lern linux better.

simple
chmod is used to set permissions to a file .
chown is used to assign permissions of file/dir to a user
to know more about the commands
use man command
man chown
man chmodCoding Horror Fan
