    Default DVD R/W not recognised

I got 2 DVD drives in a computer.

    - DVD RW/R
    - DVD ROM

When I putting a blank DVD, I got the error Inaccessible Invalid function.

    I've followed instruction: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315350/

but I've not installed Roxio Easy CD Creator.

I've even try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316529/ but nothing

It's obvious the DVD is not recognised as writer, there's not the recording tab when right-click > properties.

I've tried on two different version of windows XP, it's the same and they were both freshly installed.

Do you know any fix for this ?

Go into your device manager, and uninstall the devices from there. Now reboot your system, and let Windows re-detect them.

If that doesn`t work, maybe changing the ide/sata cable will help.

I've uninstall them from device manager, reboot , windows re-detect them but still the same.

I don't think the problem is with the cable as both drives can read perfectly.
