i use smf

personally i dont really mind what software a site uses and im sure the members dont ether as long as its got good contend thats all that matters

the reason i use smf is because is suppose to be a free vbulletin i ported a vbulletin skin and their are loads of mods that have been copied from vbulletin so it is really good if you dont want to buy a license

i would choose phpbb becuse the passwords are safer then on smf witch can be cracked fast!

yeah phpbb is good but the reason warez-bb aint been hacked is because they will have modified the code a lot to patch up security holes.
