there are no security holes to patch up to begin with.

Warez-bb does have a few extra things in place to help the security.
However I recommend phpbb3 over the rest. It pwns the rest on speed, functionality, code cleanliness and security.

SMF is great .

SMF is the best forum script around in my opinion.
VB/PHPBB/IPB are probably easier to use but they are overdeveloped and too bulky for large forums (Without massive core modifications).

Also SMF is a lot easier to modify than any other forum script. The code actually makes sense where as vb and such use too many included files and have too much coder-unfriendly code.
