    Default vBulletin to IPB

Alright. The current board I'm using has IPB. My question is this:

I have a few database tables with users from other sites I used to run. How would I just take the user tables and merge them into the current forum's user table?

edit: the current user tables are from vBulletin databases but all I could find right now is just the user tables for each other. I want to put them on an IPB board. I don't care about the posts, etc. I just need the members so I can e-mail them again and be like; "Hey I'm on another site. Come check it out!"

Ipb has a conversion from vb to ipb. But you can not just dump the converted ones with phpmyadmin.

You will need to write a routine that will check if the member number, display name, login name and email are in use and if not do a new member routine depending on version of ipb.

^ Oh yeah! That didn't struck me

Well, just email them asking to register again? In vB you've the option for exporting email ID. Use that

I have the full database for all databases but I can't seem to find them. I hid each table in separate parts of my hard drive across 3 hard drives to be secure no one will steal the DBs incase someone got access to my computer.

Anyway.. how would I go about the routine check from the user table from vb and add the unexciting users to ipb?

You can not just merge your vb user tabel into an ipb user table.
Also its very difficult to merge 2 tables from diffrent databases as you will not only have to merge the user tabel but also some others that are linked to the users tabel.

Anyway, what I suggest DXS is to first gather your entire db from your machines, put it togheter and then convert your vb to ipb with the conversion software (I have it don't worry )
Then when you have your convertet vb-->ipb board online then you could make backups of the 2 db's that you want to merge and experiment with that.
I know some people who succesfully merged 2 ipb databases , I will get some info from them for you

it seems that IP.Converge can also be used for merging 2 databases.

If you convert to 2.36 there is a free merge routine on invisionize.com in the mods section.
