You don't have to worry about getting shutdown if you're running a nulled version of vBulletin or IPB. There are pretty big sites running nulled copies of those forum scripts.

Check it out mate, most of the big warez forum out there uses nulled vbulletin.
Its upto you if you want to afford a license.

as long as i can find it for free then why in the hell i wanna spend my money for nothing ?
but yeah i can see that a lot of the warez forums using vb .
but the good thing about IPB you can use it on your iphone or ipad . that's the good thing i guess ...

Yes IPB is also good, but I am a vbulletin fan as always.
So I would prefer vbulletin as usual as I can give support on it because of my knowledge.

Why not try both once? lol There's no harm in knowing the features of both of them beforehand

Run vB + phpbb in different directories and check for the features + plugins + mods + themes available.

I have a good experience in both, so by features it's vB. And by maintainance phpbb is far better .
