Problem is with the character encoding. Database was imported under some other encoding than it was on the old hosting.

If you have some older backup, import it via bigdump. But first see, what's the encoding of the database, e.g. UTF-8 or some other.

I'm sure It's the database problem, because you said "after transfering it from old hosting".

You could switch templates, and see if there's any error on other template. If there's no error, It's the vB template. But I highly doubt that.
