Image Format Question

Could someone tell me which format is best to save an image without background (transparent background)? Im using .png at the moment but even low resolution pictures takes quite a bit space then any .jpg image

Try to use GIF and if it doesnt work for ur pic then try to optimize the PNG else put the background in ur jpg file and export?

just tried gif it takes less space but gives lower quality i can't use jpg cuz i don't want any background is there any other format?
