If it's a forum, I'd say .org - But .com is usually a lot easier for people to remember, as most starters first try that one.

well i use.org and i like it, thats why i use .org otherwise .net .com are nice too what matters for me is how the domain sounds with the extension it just a matter of choice..

you can't use WhoIS protection with .org (just in case)
