Well, you could have handled that a bit better. Perhaps asking him to simply prove that he owns the copyright to said files etc instead of being a complete tool towards him

I may be paranoid of legal actions, but no matter how "unproffesional" (improper spelling here from you) their message is, saying what you did will only make things worse. And by worse I mean them sending a new mail and you having to reply over and over again...

I actually always keep a "DMCA disclaimer" mail in my saved messages so I can always copy that text into messages. A kind response from me, no response mail from them and I even throw in a little "Best Regards" to show how professional I am. (Yes I'm a formal guy when it comes to websites, not personal life )

So even if your message was a good way to handle it or not, this thread is kinda reversing, as them being stupid has been directed off them and to you, which... is kinda LOOOL!

Oh, and why didn't you mention "in your head" (or whatever the name was) records doesn't exist in your reply? Their mail would've failed then, but now, yours kinda did....
