Why most of the Admins use 3.8.x vBulletin rather than 4.x.x?

Yes, it is Arthur.
With every version patch, many many bugs get fixed.

I think vB lost it after 3.6
I would still use 3.6.12 if 3.8 mods would be compatible.

vb 4.1 public beta is out so before taking any decision lets try it bcs according to vbulletin.com 4.1 will fix nearly all bugs

and for those who want to downgrade follow these steps

backup your database
convert your forum to phpbb or IPB (or any other forum software)
When its done convert the new converted forum into vb 3.8.x series

vB has released 3.8.7 beta 1 sometime ago.
I think its the best one after they messed with 3.8.6 and released patch level 1.

Don't listen to the user above. vBulletin 4 is horrible. I mean I like it but there are few good mods and skins out for it. I would continue with 3.8 for some time until theres good mods and skins out
