Default Why most of the Admins use 3.8.x vBulletin rather than 4.x.x?

I am sure most of you want to know this thing

I saw that most of the Pro Admins and most of the 4* or 5* sites are still using the old version of the vBulletin rather than VB4.x.x

    1) Why is that?
    2) What are the main reasons?
    3) How to downgrade to 3.8.x if we are having the vb4.x.x?

Please share your opinions so that we could know the reason behind this mystery

    Thanks,

    Arthur

    1. Safer, it's more stable and very few weaknesses.
    2. More mods, more skins, more support.
    3. A pain in the ass to upgrade, it would take a few days to upgrade sites from 3.8 to 4.

vbulletin 3.8 easy to manage easy to modifiying, and many plugins competible

i think can't downgrade vb 4.x.x to 3.8.x coz this use diffrent script

vb 3.8 use normal script vb 4 use script like <vb:....> when u downgrade then this will wil crash

vb 4.x.x use colocation table is diffrent vb. 3.8.x use latin1_swedish_ci and vb 4 use utf8

Ya, I also upgraded from 3.x to 4.x since I felt it was good at SEO by default. But the problems with 4.X I feel is

    1. They release a new 4.x version for 10 days, so not stable.
    2. Skins is a major problem with 4.x.
    a. Skins are not as customizable as 3.x due to the use of only Style Vars in 4.x, it makes it more difficult for customization.
    b. Also most skins are not adaptable to future versions, so you need to update the skin for the latest version and again customize it.
    3. Still has a lot of vulnerabilities.

I would recommend not to downgrade to 3.x since I hope there will be a stable one 4.1, at the same time not to upgrade to 4.x till it becomes stable.

I agree with all of the above and do think at this time VB 3.8.xx is a better choice, but i would also like to add that i find VB 4 to be clunky, when site owner/admins start adding backgrounds to their sites. Scrolling threw their sites are annoying. VB 3 is clean and always clunk free.

    cheers
