I had the same problem a week ago with bigdump latest version.

Luckily I had an older version of bigdump laying around . And the older version worked like a charm.

If you want I can give you the old version to tryout if nothing else helps.

Don't you have SSH access?

Contact the host and ask them, maybe they disabled some mysql functions.
