RapidShare Gets 150,000 Euro Copyright Infringement Fine RapidShare Gets 150,000 Euro Copyright Infringement Fine Earlier this year, cyberlocker service RapidShare was ordered by a court to remove nearly 150 electronic books from its archives and prevent users from re-uploading them by implementing a filter. According to the publishers who brought the case, RapidShare quickly breached the injunction. Today, the Regional Court of Hamburg agreed and hit the file-hosting company with a 150,000 euro fine. Exactly what iMage said. They are new age uploaders. Go back over the thread. Nobody who's a member on KWWH longer than a year is celebrating. They just want the money and don't see it's implications.

True that. However, old uploaders, like myself, also hate RS nowadays. Not cause they don't pay, but the free user waiting time is up to 260 (!!!) sec now, and then the speed is still crap. And a premium account has horrible limits.

@ snowmanrene because this is teh new generation of *cough* uploaders *cough* and after RS decided to stop giving rewards everyone turned on them here. As Happy said in an earlier post,im not sure why everyone is so happy,this just sets a precident for all the other filehosts as well.and the fines will only increase i imagine

Oh common people... 150k euro is still 150k euro.
Its a big sum for any company. RS has fixed costs, employees, ISP, server parts.. Don't think because its a big company it won't hurt 'em..

EDIT: iMage, RS was still making profit without the uploaders.. RS has made a name to itself.. All the people i know (in real life) are noobs when it comes to warez.. and they all know 2 ways of downloading.. Rapidshare and Torrents.
