Hey guys, we're looking for some feedback/reviews on a blog that Hx, jSx, and I have started as a resources blog. We intend to post resources that people will find useful from graphics to tutorials. We're looking to improving the blog so some feedback from you guys would be very much appreciated.

• Footer looks really bad.

• Where it says "Follow" should be sitemap and a dropdown of the sitemap.

There is suppose to be an adbanner there, but we disabled it.

I also agree footer looks bad, too big or to much right?

Ten thousand subscribers, really?
Skin is great, you should change the "Did you like this? Share it:" from the post preview, as there is nothing to click on and share.

We have actually figured out why the Share it plugin does that on the homepage. Working on fixing

We don't actually have that many subscribers. It says that because we have yet to sign up for our own.

I like the idea of the site. I myself have planed for the last while to start something similar where I could write all my tutorials and tricks.

Anyway, the review.

First fix the obvious stuff like links not working eg. Other Options etc.
The footer. I'd just get rid of it. Either that are completely redesign it.
The main navbar is in the wrong place. It should be below the logo where it's more obvious and be bigger. I'd expect to find tiny insignificant links up there like sitemaps and contact us links etc not the main navbar.
The thumbs for Popular Posts are so small their pointless not to mention some are broken.
I'd get rid of the top follow thing. You've follow stuff and rss, contact us, email newsletters etc links everywhere already.
Another point if you remove that drop down follow think in the header you'll have removed the only thing on the site that uses javascript (besides the twitter count of followers which will only get banned if your site get's busy and makes too many requests)
You'd be able to remove all the javascript on the page which currently is shit loads.
The whole thing is really heavy considering how plain and simple it looks. Like the site is over 400kb but for that you should be loading fancy flash and videos. You could get that site down to 40kb easily if you recoded it properly and have it load at warp speed.

I agree with the footer.. It's big and messy. I like the main navigation on top, looks nice. Popular posts should be removed, or edited.

No you gotta do something with the nav at the top.

You know with Google Analytics it allows you to serve up different versions of a site to different people and track them. Try it and I bet if you move the navbar lower and make it bigger like I suggested your bounce rate will decrease. Good navigation is critical on a site. If a visitor can't see where they want to go in less than half a second they usually close the page. FACT!

Maybe so, but the first thing I look at when I load the website is the 2 dark spots (sidebar, and nav). I don't know about you but most probably do the same.

We will see how it looks below the logo.
