    Default Blog Spot Redirect?

I find there is the odd blog spot site that comes up here and there for certain keywords. The sub domain picked, and the simple on site seo, plus the fact google likes there own makes this a really easy method for some kind of traffic.

My idea was to create maybe 10 of these blogs promoting different primary keywords and linking them back to my main site. This hopefully would give it a bit of traffic, and some one way back links of similar sites.

This was just a dumb idea I had while surfing, anyone think it would work, or is it a dumb idea?

I don't think its gonna work. Google might even penalise your main site for trying to farm backlinks. The google spider has its way to find out if web masters are cheating.

I have even considered blasting the blog spot domains with xrumer building them up and then sending my self a link back. I doubt google will penalise the main site because people run blog spot sites all the time and redirect them to a new domain and site since they want to be able to have more control. The google spider maybe smart but it is still limited to what ever they code it to do.

Yes it would work but it's a lot of work.

How well it works depends on a large number of factors. What's on the blogspot sites, who maintains them, how many and want links point to them. Generally sites used to redirect traffic which your blogspot sites will be are low in quality as their's no point spending loads of time on them.

Here's another way of looking at it. Consider the amount of time required to register these blogspot sites, set them up, fill them with content, maintain them (even automated sites take some level of maintenance) generate links back to them and do this for all the blogspot sites.
If you were to put the same amount of time and effort into the main site you'd probably get more in return.

That's what I'm finding from personal experience in the short term of similar ideas. I'm not sure of the longer term of these yet but will let you know.

Alright thanks for your input. Yes I plan to have them low quality, and blast them with xrumer. The content will be referenced to a main keyword per blog. So say I am running a cooking site my blogs could target different words.

    Blog1 - Cooking Books
    Blog2 - Cooking Tutorials
    Blog3 - Cooking Recipes
    Blog4 - BBQ
    Blog5 - Cooking Presentation

ect ect. Yes my example is kind of dumb lol. I plan to set them up, maybe put a few blog posts (maybe auto leech) on each really targeting the main keywords of each with nice link backs to the main site. I don't plan on spending really anytime on them after they are set up. So basically maybe 20-30mins/blog.

Glad for your feedback, let me know how it goes long term. I will give it a test some time soon.
