Hello,
No accounts are being shared. The users of my site require their own account.
Files aren't even stored, simply streamed. So if the files are removed due to complaints from copyright owners, they can't be generated on my site.
This is not a 'premium link' generator site. It simply transforms rapidshare.com links into direct links using the rapidshare premium account the member has.
That way he can use it to 'remote' to filehosts that have banned the rapidshare server IP's.
So (a) doesn't apply here, since no accounts are being shared among users.
And I'm not sure about what you mean with (b).
Am I not allowed to use the string "Rapidshare" in my website's body?
If not, I'll remove it, but I think there is a misunderstanding of the service I'm offering.
I'd just like a confirmation from RapidShare about this.
In my footer it also clearly says 'RapidShare is a trademark of RapidShare AG.' And at this page ( which I ask everyone to read before paying ) it says no accounts are being shared.
A member can't do anything rapidshare-related on my site without their own rapidshare 'premium' account.

Ofcourse I know that. That doesn't have anything to do with this.
I'd just like to know this, is what I'm doing illegal?
IMO it's not as I'm not sharing accounts or costing them any cash.

2 demands to be met and you are covered in usa court of law against rs.
a) In your email, offer to show them how the system works to prove that you are not sharing premium account data.
b) Remove all words (rapidshare) from anywhere other then content pages of the site.
Reply saying that the demands have been met, and thanking them for notifying you of your errors there is no need for further contact. Don't fight/argue, just bring closure.

Close the topic, Don't make it a big issue. You're doing illegal stuff(according to them!). RS -> RS has been disabled by rapidshare themselves. Why would they allow users to use your site to flood their servers with duplicate content?

sborg.usThey can just compare the MD5 hashes of files being uploaded. It's not possible to compare the file-names the same way. That would be like suicide!
