Only 25% of the world speaks english, so, Do you shut out 75%?.Should you lose that member base/traffic? My website doesn't require english from members or staff, and I've never had a problem communicating with any of them.

Then either they speak your language or you don't communicate with them at all. I don't see how you would be able to communicate with someone that speaks portugese while you speak english.
The thing is, almost all countries have their own forums, with their own language, where EVERYBODY must speak that lanugage (there are loads of german, portugese, spain forums). They shut out over 75% of the world, why can't KWWH?
