Question How To Test Server Port Speed?

How do I test my server port speed? Is there any script or tools to check the port speed whether it's 10Mbps/100Mbps/1Gbps?

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks

You could upload a test file.

and share it over http (Port 80). 100MB Test File.
And ask others to test it for you.

    In SSH

    Just Type

    wget http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test

    Upto 20-30 mb - 100mbit

    More than that - 1gbit

    I get around 60-70mb so 1 sec

plus only for speed try this
    ethtool eth0 | grep -i speed

    @EnCiPh3r
ur method is not accurate coz it may vary with location of server & many other factors

No EnCiPh3r was correct, use wget, just make sure you test it with several different test files from different servers.

Use the test file provided above, that will test your port speed. If around over 30mbs like said it will then be a 1GBIT port.

I tested the file, it took 1/2 sec to download the 100mb file.

So I am using 1Gbit speed server.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
