ipb3 to subfolder redirection

cant seem to get it to work, I get a loop error
Right now it is domain.com
want it to go to domain.com/forum

I originally tried to redirect only the threads but gave me the same error, so I tried this and still nothing. Any help on any kind of solution would be appreciated.

Are you using mod_rewrite in IP.Board urls?

Not sure if there is a way to exclude /forum/ from that rule. Whats happening is

url/test -> url/forum/test -> url/forum/forum/test ...

yea I see that, is there any other methods or ideas as I am out of them.

its taking all the requests and sending to /forum
You need to set it that ONLY *.domain.com/ will redirect
