    Is there a list of proxies that I can use to blacklist proxy users from entering my site? We've too many spammers from the 3rd world.

    The list of proxies is endless. You can't block 'em all. I can always find some working proxy to get in if I wanted to

    you are right..but there are many more reliable ways to block users who use proxy..
    majority of all public proxy servers add some headers like
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED, HTTP_VIA etc..

    just detect those and block them

    I know I cannot block them all... Hence, I want to make things as difficult as possible.

    Does anybody know how torrent sites perform their proxy scan on new registrants? I could simply allow new user to register but I can invoke "miserable users" mode on their accounts if they're signing up from a proxy.
