Wordpress Sidebar Slowing things down...

On my blog (http://farmvilleinformer.com), everything else loads within the first sec or less and the sidebar is the only thing taking like FOREVER to load. Can anyone help me.

P.s. The site is using aws amazon services and caching so your first load will be a little slow. If anyone have other ways to make that faster please help me.

No problems in loading your site bud. It loaded quite fast for me. Its just the images that are taking a long time to fully load. You can reduce the number of posts on the home page to around 5. Also use jump breaks in your posts or the entire post shows up in the home page which is undesirable and increases load time unnecessarily.

The sidebar categories came up pretty quickly for me as well but the sidebar skin took a long time to load. The sidebar skin showed up at the end after all the images loaded.

Prazsky, thanks for all of the info, but as I said before, first time loads will always be slow. But I don't know if it was the facebook like box that was slowing down the site or what, but do you recommend any other ways of making the site faster. I'll be willing to pay someone to do it as well.

It's because the whole side loads first before the sidebar and since the site is heavy, the images take some time and once all is loaded, the sidebar loads.

You could shrink down your posts, means something like a read more or continue reading button and in that little info of your post, the images won't appear, only when people choose to read more it would appear. That way everything would load fast

Well my competitors don't have the read more option and when people want to see updates, they just want to go on the site and read the updates. That's one of the main reasons I put the whole post to show...

It took gtmetrix, 27s to load. Anyway they analyzed your site, try following their tips and see if it gets any faster.

Not saying the problem is with your host but it's possible it could be your host.
