I use AVITrimmer, it's really one of the best trimmers. Few days ago I downloaded one movie that was 760mb, and it couldn't be burned on 1 CD, so I just trimmed its ending with AVITrimmer. Funny thing is that movie ending was more than 10 minutes, lol.

p.s. It's freeware.

I been using the Trim Tool in Windows Live Movie Maker to cut 10 min samples

You could try Fast AVI MPEG Splitter too would have to search on Katz.cd for it or something since it's not free.
