On a virtual-server it really doesnt matter usually you need 64bit to use more than 4 gb of ram but on a virtual server even 32bit can say use 12 gb of ram

How ever some programs/scripts require 64 bit

32 bit servers are faster and less resource intensive. If you're using basic scripts for uploading 32 bit will be better.
Bad Uploaders: mayank101, zer(0), UltimateUploader, immu, much more..

As DLow said it doesn't really matter. 32bit should be fine generally on linux. If you have Windows and 4GB of ram and you install CentOS 32bit then you will lose 0.8GB of ram. Also, rarring/unrarring of files bigger then 3,2 gGB of ram requires 64bit system. I also thought about uploading/downloading of files bigger then 3.2GB but I don't know if it's true.

ex of scripts : (Rapidleech, Torrentflux, Filemanagers, Online zipping php classes, etc...)
