What are the best DDL Script(s) ?

Totally depends on how good a webmaster your are. If your not to bad or know basic coding and/or gfx you should go for WCDDL.

If your new to coding and gfx and can't customize sites then go for DDLCMS.

If your not in a rush then LiteWarez is working on a new open source DDL script which I'd advise you wait for.

Their are lots of older ones like KDDL which you should stay away from.

Sites like NexusDDL, Twilligh.ws, MechoDDL and Katz are all custom scripts.

hmm not really most of the ddls you mentioned were based off kddl and nexus was based off wcddl. But they are heavily modified versions.

Is NexusDDL Twilight, etc.

All made from scratch or wcddl?

NexusDDL started life as WCDDL about 2 years ago when it was owned by a guy here called CyberJ37. He did a lot of work to it and customized it and then later sold it to SplitIce. SplitIce is a great coder and has recoded the whole thing from scratch so it's a totally unique script.

Twillight is coded by Whoo. Not sure what it started life as but it was probably either WCDDL or KDDL as it's pretty old. Whoo has recoded it a few times sense. I think it's on Version 3 now so it's totally custom as well.

Katz started out a few years ago as KDDL. It's being highly modified and customisied over the years and I'm sure by now has no KDDL elements left in it making it a custom script as well.

MechoDDL started out as KDDL. It was customized over the years like the other and then recoded from scratch by me making it custom too.

The only reason some of these started as KDDL was because they are all old and it was one of the better DDL scripts available at the time. KDDL though is poorly coded and full of bugs but all of the above teams/people were able to fix those issues and then later code their own custom scripts to their needs.

That's todays history lesson.

In summary:
Twilight - Custom
Nexusddl - Custom
Katz - Custom
Mechoddl - kDDL/Custom (last time I saw its source -- 1 year -- it still looked fairly kDDL)
Atomic - WCDDL
DDL0 - WCDDL? Im fairly certain.

Custom > WCDDL > kDDL > all others.

For me WCDDL is preeety good that others since u can do alot of your own customizations.

There are loads of new customizations i am going to bring in to the users in the coming days.
