What is the benefit?

Hello all,
I was wondering what is the benefit of having a big forum like warez-bb, tehparadox if I am not a uploader? Suppose I am only Admin, I don't post any thread then what will be my earning source except advertising selling?

Please share your experience or what do you think. What will be your earning source if you own a big forum.

If you are just an admin at such a site, U can earn more than 1000$ from these sites by adding ur site in HF,DL,FS etc..

There is also another source of earning i.e Adspots and Some others like Adbright and Smowtion etc!

There are a lot of people earning 500-1000$ from their small sites too!

This is one of the main reasons why 99% of new sites fail. One of the first questions they asks involves "Money".

Last year was the first year Facebook made a profit. Youtube has never made a profit (maybe it has last quater not sure). Twitter has never made a profit and is a long way from doing so currently. I don't think you follow the way the internet works. Traffic is what counts if you own a site not money. If you have traffic the money will follow.

Good reply Mr Happy. Thanks for your reply. But I don't want to buy a big forum. I was just wondering what is their benefit. Even I still don't understand how exactly Facebook founder made 1 billion dollar!!! I mean he was always against advertisement. Don't know him well but I have seen "The Social Network".

Also A big site must have high server cost. I don't think without money they can effort that.

Imagine. Facebook was loosing millions every single year yet was still valued at billions.

It's all about potential. If you have huge traffic and control that much of the Internet people will throw money at you. People pay millions to own just half of a percent of a company like Facebook and they are queuing up to buy a part. If you sell half of a percent then you've loads of money.

In Warez-BB's case they had people throwing money at them and instead of getting a percent they were given the Donator Rank. They don't even need this any more (ignoring the legal problems it carries with it).

Now their adverts cover their running costs. Remember that running costs for a large warez site are a lot lot smaller. You have a community that helps you in coding, gfx artists do stuff for free and moderators who keep the site clean. None of these (as far as I know) receive a weekly pay cheque.

Think of it as economies of scale the same way stuff for a small corner store is more expensive than a large supermarket chain.

That's why investors invest billions of money in Facebook as example.
