lol Have anyone of you guys take a look in a post posted here in this forum about VB 4, they are trying to rip off the looks of IPB 3, this mean IPB stasrted to win.

IPB is pain in ass on installing modification, I agree about that but you doesn't do it everyday, also don't install modifications you doesn't need it.

    Also read that guys

Well this is kinda a 50/50....But IPB and vB are the most popular forum softwares out there. A lot of members just say ''IPB Sucks'' ''vB is better''- That doesn't help. I don't know much about vBulletin/IPB myself but I'll try to be as honest as possible, lol. Looking at the prices, vBulletin is 180$ (owned license) along with it comes 1 year free updates, once expired it costs 40$ to re-subscribe (if you purchase within 60 days of the license expiry date) however IPB is only 149.99 which has 6 months ticket support/upgrades along with phone support. Once the support/upgrades (after 6 months) have expired it only costs 25$ to extend the support/upgrades etc. So at this stage, I would go with vBulletin as it has a longer period of support and you get to upgrade within the year. Addons for vBulletin are much easier to install, but with IPB you've gotta do a lot of shit. But IPB do have a few ''awesome'' addons like the IP Blog, IP Download, IP Gallery etc. The admin control panel of IPB is very easy to use IMO, It has the Home tab, where you can search and view every part of the Admin panel instead of clicking each tab which is time consuming and piss-take. lol. vBulletin on the other hand has a lot links everywhere with sub-links too. It's too unorganised but the skins for the Admin panel are alrite hehe - But no one cares about the looks of the admincp, they care how fast it is, if its easy to navigate etc, Which IPB is far beyond better than vBulletin. So IMO I would choose vBulletin if your a ''starter'' - Since the mods are easy to install etc but then IPB comes in which has better features and is worth buying. So like I said in the start its a 50/50. If your good with one forum software and crap at another, obviously you should go for the one your good at.

idk. ive used both. but i remember that there is a Universal mod installer or something, that makes it easy to install mods (WITHOUT EDITS).

the only reason im using Vbulletin, is that i could never find the mods (nulled) as theyre hidden in sites that need a license.

one thing is for sure. when IPb 3 comes out - BYE BYE Vb

I'll disagree with that. IPB USED TO be a resource hungry piece of software way back. With their recent version and lots of code revision, they're literally pwning vB.

I personally use vB, true. But I like IPB. Probably because of their simplicity (not talking mod installation here), scalability, power, etc.

Then again, you're under less risk of being closed down (for pirated software usage) if you're using IPB. Think someone on this thread mentioned that, so yeah, (even if it is insignificant) that's another plus point of using IPB.

vB happens to be the talk of the day. Why? Because lots of warez webmasters use it. Start counting forums yourself on any given day, and you'll see more vB than IPB. Why? They see it running everywhere, they run it too. (Was the same for me, partially ).

But meh, at the end of the day, the choice is yours. I'd say, download both, get a WAMP flavored server, install it on your PC, and test out both. Pick the one you like

IPB 2 vs vB 3 imo IPB wins. I used both a lot, but IPB is way better (code/security/usage wise). As for the upcoming IPB 3: it has no competition, everyone who thinks otherwhise is kidding himself (not even being fanboy-ish).

IPB is implementing a hook system so it will be a breeze to install mods....
IPB 3.0 does leave vB in the dust. Off the software....IPB's site looks way better and they communicate with their customers VERY WELL.
